Brainwashing. Or Sibling Rivalry. Or Something Like That.

Kimberly was laying on my bed while I was getting ready this morning. Makayla climbed up and started talking to her, as she often does. I overheard her saying this to Kimberly.

Oh hello baby Kimmy. I'm your sister Makayla. Can you take a smile at me? (Kimberly smiles) Oh! Good job! I'm your nice sister. Ellie is your mean sister. I'm Makayla. I'm your very nicest big sister. I love you. Ellie is a little mean, but I'm super nice.

I can already tell that we are going to have some problems when these three get older.

Makayla & Ellie Love Kimberly

They are constantly asking to hold her and kiss her. At first I hesitated, but I quickly learned to have them hold her while I'm around. Otherwise, they try to pick her up when I step into the other room. Yikes!

They are such good little helpers, and most of the time they will sing or talk to her when she is upset.

Blessing Day

Kasey blessed Kimberly last week. My mom crocheted this beautiful dress for Makayla's blessing in 2004. Luckily, I've been able to use it for 2 more girls.

We also got our first family picture taken since Kimberly was born. It's not the best (we can't wait for Carrie to take our family pictures), but it's our first and therefore special to us. No matter the quality.

Joke Courtesy of Ellie

What does a frog say?
**Ribbit! Ribbit!

What does a bunny say?
**Rabbit! Rabbit!

Maybe it's because I'm the mom, but I thought this was hilarious!

She May Be a Tall Girl Yet

Kimberly went for her 2 month check-up yesterday. She weighed in at 11 pounds 3 ounces and is now 21 1/2 inches long. This little girl has grown 4 inches in 2 months! Crazy!

Ellie also went for her 2 year check-up, albeit 3 months late. Oh well. She is 30 pounds and just over 3 feet tall.

What can I say? We grow 'em big in our family.

Dear Kimberly,

I am so happy that you let me sleep for 7 hours in my own bed last night. After a week of sleepless nights, it was heaven! However, 7 hours of sleep at night does not compensate for the 6 hours of screaming/crying that you have done thus far today. Can't we please find a happy medium? The stress is a little more than I can take.
Love,
Your Mom

Smile

Last night we got a short break from Kimberly's crying when she graced us with a little half-smile. It was great!
