This morning as Makayla was rushing out the door to get to school on time, I took a quick peek at the school lunch menu.
Makayla, do you want to eat chicken teriyaki rice bowl for lunch today?
Blech! No way!
Okay, well I don't have time to make a cold lunch right now, but I will bring it to you before you go to lunch.
She rushed out the door and I went about getting ready for the day. At one o'clock I was cleaning up lunch at our house and stopped dead in my tracks. I slapped my forehead (in a very cartoon-ish way) and told Kasey, "We forgot to take lunch to Makayla!"
It's not like she didn't get to eat anything for lunch. She has a lunch account to which I add money every month. But this is not the first time THIS WEEK that I have forgotten to take her a cold lunch. It's the second time. I cannot believe that I forgot! Again!
I blame it on the rib. Apparently, healing a broken bone leaches smarts from my brain.

well, you have agood excuse... I have NO broken bones on the mend, so what's mine ;-) smarts seem to leak from my brain daily ;-)
When I read your blog, I wonder why you struggled so much with writing in high school. You are a very good writer! Mrs. Pedersen would be proud! :)
So was Makayla mad? Don't feel bad about forgetting. If I don't write something down in my planner, it will surely get forgotten. And "make kid lunch" doesn't seem worthy of getting written down. haha.
So I responded to your comment on my blog back on my blog, but in short, YES, COME VISIT!!
