I really love this series of black & whites with each of my girls.

New Pictures by Carried Away Photography
These are some of my favorite pictures from our recent photo session with Carrie. I've been looking forward to getting some new family pictures since Kimberly was born. So, here they are.

My Favorite Things
"When I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things. And then I don't feel so bad."
Yesterday was, without question, the worst day of my life.
Of my entire life.
The absolute worst day of my 26 year life. And that's saying a lot because, well, I've had some really horrible days.
So, in an attempt to make myself feel better, I'm going to write about some of my favorite things.

So, in an attempt to make myself feel better, I'm going to write about some of my favorite things.
My silly, beautiful girls.
The place where Kasey and I fell in love.
My wedding day.
Days like this where I feel like a cool mom for creating a castle in our living room out of a sheet and kitchen chairs.
More of my favorite things:
reading
playing the piano
the smell of rain and freshly cut grass
my parents, who dropped everything to come to our rescue yesterday
friends who did the same
**************
Hopefully today will be a better day!

Kung Fu Girls
My girls love the movie Kung Fu Panda. Makayla calls it "Master Tigress" because that is her favorite character in the movie. Ellie calls it "Kung Pu Pighting" because of the song "Kung Fu Fighting" that plays during the end credits. Even Kimberly seems to be mildly amused by it. (Yes, I know. Go ahead and judge me if you want. But I can only take so much crying from her before I have to find alternate ways to amuse her. If 5 minutes in front of the TV gains me 5 minutes of quiet, then so be it.)
Anyway, Makayla and Ellie randomly break out their best Kung Fu moves for me throughout the day. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to catch it on camera.

Here's Makayla with her best Tigress impressions.

If Only There Was a Picture to Go With This Story
Makayla has an imagination like no other. She gets a little carried away sometimes. And other times it's down right hilarious the things that come from her head and out of her mouth.
Today I borrowed a vacuum from my friend (thanks Rhiannon!) since my $40 Walmart special has now decided spit out everything it sucks up. Lovely.
Ellie was attempting to play with the vacuum. I told her she couldn't play with the vacuum.
Why? Makayla asked.
Because I don't want her to break it.
Why?
Because Rhiannon will be very angry if we break her vacuum.
Why will she be angry?
Well, do you like it when people break your things?
No. When people break my things then I get mad, Mad, MAD!! And then my fingers turn into claws, and I growl at them. Grrr-aawww!!
Oh dear! (chuckle) And that's why we don't break other people's things.

Sick Baby
My poor baby is sick. I feel like we have a whole pharmacy at our house just for Kimberly. Eye drops for her eye infection. Saline for her stuffy nose. (Okay I know it's not a prescription, but I bought it at the drug store.) And something for her cough. Those are sitting next to a medicine dropper, a bulb syringe, and a giant bag of cotton balls. I also have a large stack of burp rags close by for when she coughs so hard that she pukes on me. and herself. and the floor.
She's obviously miserable. She was a mama's girl before, but even more so now that she isn't feeling well. Kasey has been a huge help. I can only do so much while I'm holding a baby. Today he had to go back to work which means the dishes won't get done, the floor will not be vacuumed, and dinner will most likely not get made. I'm sure I'll be on a first name basis with the pizza delivery guy before the end of the week.

Brainwashing. Or Sibling Rivalry. Or Something Like That.
Kimberly was laying on my bed while I was getting ready this morning. Makayla climbed up and started talking to her, as she often does. I overheard her saying this to Kimberly.
Oh hello baby Kimmy. I'm your sister Makayla. Can you take a smile at me? (Kimberly smiles) Oh! Good job! I'm your nice sister. Ellie is your mean sister. I'm Makayla. I'm your very nicest big sister. I love you. Ellie is a little mean, but I'm super nice.
I can already tell that we are going to have some problems when these three get older.
